"In today's high-tech healthcare environment, it is ironic that a puppy's sloppy kiss can create
measurable health benefits. The evidence favoring the health value of pets is so compelling that if pet therapy were a pill,
we would not be able to manufacture it fast enough".

PFH volunteers began visiting patients in three facilities in Napa county in 1999: Queen of the Valley Medical Center, St. Helena
Hospital, and the Yountville Veterans Home. Today we are welcomed into more than 100 sites and work with a variety of clients in Napa,
Solano, Sonoma and Marin Counties. Yet there are never enough volunteers to satisfy the requests we receive.
We have grouped our affiliated sites by the city they are located in. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, please look through the list to find a site that provides health care or educational services in the city you are interested in visiting
